THDL Medicine Collections
The THDL Medicine Collections are organized into three main themes: Clinical Practice, Therapeutics and Pharmacy, and History and Culture. Clinical Practice, Therapeutics and Pharmacy resources address the practice of Tibetan medicine today, intending primarily to appeal to those with interests in alternative traditions of health care and the practical clinical applications of Tibetan medicine in Tibet or abroad. History and Culture resources investigate the history of Tibetan medicine and the formation of scientific or medical concepts as inextricably embedded in cultural, social, religious and ideological contexts. These resources are intended to appeal to those with historical and/or anthropological interests in Tibetan medicine.

An Introduction to Tibetan Medical Practice : An introductory overview of Tibetan medical practice, part of THDL's Tibetan Medicine Learning Resources, that draws on videos shot at the Lhasa Mentsikhang in 2001.
Videos on Tibetan Medicine: An overview of THDL's collection of over 100 short (and not so short) videos shot in Lhasa on issues relevant to the study of Tibetan medicine or health and illness in Tibet.
Tibetan Medical Paintings : A detailed study of 16 thangkas from the seventeenth-century collection of medical paintings.
Empowering the Medicine: A presentation of the Empowering the Medicine (sman grub) ritual performed in Lhasa in 2001.
