Panoramas of Sera Monastery in Tibet
At the Juncture of Four Major Buildings Complexes
(See map below for location and link to interactive map)
This panorama gives you a sense of the exterior of four major compounds at Sera. The initial shot, directly in front, is of the front façade of the Mé College temple (smad 'du khang = s044), with the western wall of the Meru Apartment Compound to the right (me ru spyi khang = s035). As you pan to the right, you see the front (southern) façade of the Meru compound. Beyond it in the distance, behind the row of mani-wheels, is the western wall of the Zhungpa Regional House (zhung pa khang tshan = s001). Continuing to the right, the yellow structure you come to is the northern wall of the Tsemönling Lama’s Residence (tshe smon gling bla brang = s002). Continuing to pan right, one comes to the long eastern wall of the Chétsa Regional House (byes tsha khang tshan = s003).
