Panoramas of Sera Monastery in Tibet
The Samlo Stupa (bsam lo mchod rten = s064)
(See map below for location and link to interactive map)
You are looking east, at a row of mani-wheels, and behind it, the huge Samlo Stupa, the largest stupa at Sera, rebuilt in the 1990s. Zoom out and pan left. The long building you see is the Samlo Apartment Compound (bsam lo spyi khang = s065). Continuing to the left, you see first (more distant) the temple of the Trehor Regional House (tre hor khang tshan gyi tshoms = s062a), and then closer and partially underground, its kitchen (tre hor rung khang = s062b). Finally, continuing left, you see the rear (northern) wall of the Ketsang Lama's Residence (ke'u tshang bla brang = s066). Instructions: Click on the panorama and, holding down your mouse, move it ("pan") to the left or right. You will see that the image moves in the direction you have selected. You can also zoom in and out using the +/- controls at the bottom of each panorama or the Shift/Ctrl keys on your computer keyboard. If you have zoomed in, you can also make the image move up or down to a certain extent. |
