Panoramas of Sera Monastery in Tibet
In the Anterior Courtyard (s077z) of the Great Assembly Hall (tshogs chen = s077)

Zoom out, and you will see the front portal of the Great Assembly Hall, the largest of Sera's temples. Pan right and you will see the kitchen (tshogs chen gyi rung khang = s077b), a separate building next to the assembly hall. To the right of that is the western wall of the Ngari Regional House (mnga' ris khang tshan = s049). Continuing to the right one sees a "flagpole" (dar chen), found in all of the courtyards of the large temples. To the right of the flagpole is the Ngari Apartment Compound (mnga' ris spyi khang = s048). Instructions: Click on the panorama and, holding down your mouse, move it ("pan") to the left or right. You will see that the image moves in the direction you have selected. You can also zoom in and out using the +/- controls at the bottom of each panorama or the Shift/Ctrl keys on your computer keyboard. If you have zoomed in, you can also make the image move up or down to a certain extent. |
