Panoramas of Sera Monastery in Tibet
At the Entrance to Sera

This is a panorama of the main entrance to Sera. One initially sees the main gate (sgo) of the monastery to the right. Pan to the right. Behind the tree is the ticket booth (s078), where foreigners must buy tickets before entering Sera. Some monks are selling yoghurt and incense under the tree. Continuing right, one sees a woman about to cross the Sera main boulevard or "Sand Street" (bye gzhung). To her right and in the distance is the Sera infirmary and restaurant complex (s079). Instructions: Click on the panorama and, holding down your mouse, move it ("pan") to the left or right. You will see that the image moves in the direction you have selected. You can also zoom in and out using the +/- controls at the bottom of each panorama or the Shift/Ctrl keys on your computer keyboard. If you have zoomed in, you can also make the image move up or down to a certain extent. |
