This site presents the interactive floor plans of Meru Nyingba. Every room and spatial feature on the plans is linked to database information and photos collected from extensive field work at the actual location. Panoramic movies provide 360 degree views of spaces within the Meru Nyingba complex.
This fully interactive virtual model of the complex allows visitors to explore the spaces of Meru Nyingba. Links inside the monastery rooms and spaces provide detailed information and visual media of each space, while audio samples taken from the actual site aural provide ambience.
These murals of the main temple assembly space, or dukhang, were shot in June 2006. We are currently presenting them as a gallery of images. A more interactive form of exploration is soon to follow.
This is a series of renderings from the 3D model of the Meru Nyingba monastic complex. These include solid and semi-transparent views of the complex, in its entirety as well as with sections cut along north-south and east-west axes. The model was built with minimal detail to emphasize volume and mass.
These images focus on the structure of the Meru Nyingba monastery, through a series of facade views that reveal a massive stone wall interior and a timber sub-structure frame. Original measured drawings were kindly provided by the Tibet Heritage Fund
